If certification is clinically appropriate, we'll complete the necessary Florida MMUR steps with you.

Florida Statutory Criteria

Qualifying medical conditions

Under Florida law (§ 381.986), certification requires an eligible debilitating condition where medical benefits outweigh potential risks.

Chronic Nonmalignant Pain

Persistent musculoskeletal, neuropathic, or joint pain caused by a qualifying medical condition or that originates from a qualifying medical condition.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Severe trauma, anxiety, intrusive memories, and stress-related conditions diagnosed by a qualified physician.

Cancer & Treatment Symptoms

Intractable pain, severe nausea, cachexia, and appetite loss associated with active oncology care.

Epilepsy & Seizure Disorders

Intractable seizure activity and related neurological complications.

Glaucoma

Elevated intraocular pressure and associated optic nerve complications.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)

Positive serostatus, neuropathic pain, immune-related symptoms, and constitutional complications.

AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)

Advanced immune deficiency symptoms, chronic wasting syndrome, nausea, and severe pain.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

Motor neuron degeneration, muscle spasticity, fasciculations, and severe chronic muscle wasting.

Crohn’s Disease & IBD

Chronic intestinal inflammation, severe cramping, nausea, and intractable digestive symptoms.

Parkinson’s Disease

Severe resting tremor, motor rigidity, gait instability, and associated neuro-muscular pain.

Multiple Sclerosis & Spasticity

Severe muscle spasms, tremors, neuropathic pain, and stiffness resulting from diagnosed neurological disorders.

Terminal Conditions

Diagnosed terminal illnesses certified by an attending physician other than the certifying physician.

Comparable Debilitating Conditions

Medical conditions of the same kind or class, or comparable to those listed above, as permitted under Florida law.
